Honoring Layla: A Journey to Prevent Tragedy
On May 5th, 2024, we experienced the sudden and tragic loss of our 14-year-old daughter, Layla. She was taken from us far too soon because she made the heartbreaking choice to get into a vehicle with a driver who was under the influence of alcohol. That decision, one that many young people face without fully understanding the consequences, led to a devastating accident that changed our lives forever.
The pain and grief we feel every day are unimaginable. Layla’s vibrant, beautiful life was cut short, and we can’t help but wish she had made a different choice. We share this because we don’t want any other family to go through the unimaginable heartbreak we are living with. We hope that by sharing Layla’s story, others will understand just how important it is to always make safe choices.
Layla was BOLD, BRAVE & BEAUTIFUL, she was truly impossible to resist. Honor her spark by creating a future where everyone’s child makes it home safely, where every parent has the peace of mind knowing their child has the confidence and the knowledge to make the right choices. We owe that to our children. We owe it to Layla.
